2005 '8 Barrels' Barossa Valley Shiraz Tasting Notes

Made from Barossa Valley Fruit, achieving a consistent style and outstanding quality each year. It is a textbook Shiraz, showing strong varietal character, full bodied, with ripe fruit.

Winemaker Comments:

Color: Deep purple/red with purple hues
Nose: Lifted, Youthful and varietally defined. Dark berry fruit, cherries, chocolate, Tobacco, with a suggestion of pepper, and vanilla richness from the oak.
Palate: Dark berry fruit, dark cherries, chocolate, tobacco.
Soft long tannins are caught in the generous fruit rush, with fruitcake and mocha flavours.
The Vanilla oak is soaked up by the fruit, with a rich mid-palate and a lingering Finish.

Residual sugar: 1.5 grams/litre
6.2 grams/litre acid
pH 3.54
Peak Drinking: 2007 to 2015
Food Matches: Enjoy with roasted beef, lamb, game and other hearty dishes,
as well as richly flavoured cheeses. This wine should be decanted before serving.
